Life literacies via bikes

Yesterday, after a 10-inch snowfall, I went snowshoeing. I would have loved to bike on the snow, but lacking necessary tools, snowshoeing it was. As I tromped awkwardly along, lo’ but what see I in yonder snow? Fresh treads of a winter cyclist!

If I were to guess, it was a Pugsley track.
No matter: all I know is that
snow = fun,
and
snow + biking = more fun.

But it reminded me that biking, on a global scale, means more than joy. For these Kenyan teens, it empowers, inspires, and frees:

Bikes + teens = global hope.
